We were so impressed with the level of service and hospitality at Pirate’s Cove Cottages. It’s rare to find a place that’s both affordable and thoughtfully appointed, but this exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottages are perfect for couples, dogs, and solo travelers. The cottages have all the clutch amenities that are often missing elsewhere—salt, pepper, quality cookware, good coffee, recycling—plus genuinely thoughtful touches like doggie treats. One of my favorite details was the repurposed pay phone on the property that’s a direct line to the owners for support or questions. It perfectly captures the care and personality of this place. The owners went above and beyond: helping us with kayaking recommendations, letting us know about events happening around town, and even introducing us to some of the long-term residents during a brief property tour. It felt incredibly welcoming—exactly the kind of warmth and attention that only an owner-operator business can provide. Apart from Pirates Cove, we stayed in two Airbnbs during this Florida trip. Both were more expensive and neither came close to the quality, comfort, or service we experienced at Pirate’s Cove. If you’re visiting Cedar Key, this is absolutely the place to stay.
